While Archangel is a work of fiction, many of the book’s characters and themes were drawn from actual people, places, and adventures. In the Archangel Photo Profile, coming to this website within the next three months, author Mark Mosely shares only a sampling of thousands of images of the smiles and souls of those incredible heroes he encountered over +25 years of experiences in +60 countries, 13 UN – defined complex humanitarian emergencies, and 7 wars on 5 continents.

The information and context from the photographs give readers an insight into the background of the author and his many characters based on those he highlighted in television, radio and print interviews.
These images, shot and filmed in crisis, include Rwanda, Bosnia, Kosovo, Haiti, and Northern Ireland – capturing the raw brutality, human suffering, and resilience of people caught in conflict.
In Rwanda, Mosely’s images from the 1994 genocide reveal the horrific scale of ethnic violence and mass killings.
